Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali addressed the Inauguration Ceremony of the 11th European Regional Meeting and 9th European Regional Women Meeting of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) being held in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, this morning.
Speaking in the Meeting, Hon. Mr. Gyawali underlined the role of NRNs in Nepal’s development efforts and urged them to contribute in all possible ways to the goal of progress and prosperity.
He appreciated the NRNA’s initiatives on expanding its network across the world for bringing together and organizing Nepali diaspora for the common cause. Its commitment, efforts, and actions towards promoting the interests of Nepali communities living abroad, building ‘national image’, and contributing to Nepal’s efforts to develop and modernize through diaspora-development nexus are truly commendable, he said.
He also highlighted the major priorities of the present Government of Nepal. He stated that the topmost priority of the Government was to build on the political gains achieved so far and take on the long overdue agenda of economic development.
Hon. Mr. Gyawali invited the Non-Resident Nepalese to forge partnerships for productive and innovative utilization of their resources, experiences, knowledge and skills in order to support the motto of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.
H.E. Mr. Claude Meisch, Minister for Education, Children and Youth of Luxembourg, and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, former Prime Minister of Nepal, and H.E. Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa, Ambassador of Nepal to BENELUX countries, were among the guests who also addressed Inauguration Ceremony.
The 11th European Regional Meeting and 9th European Regional Women Meeting of NRNA commenced in Luxembourg City this morning and will conclude tomorrow.
